THE UNFINISHED POSSIBILITY

Gülsuyu Cem House architectural project competition was driven by Maltepe Municipality in 2015. It was an experimental project process in which we focused on spaces of ritual. The current unfinished construction was built by the citiziens remarkable labor, so our design team decided to de-construct it through transforming it into a cultural center. Cem Space is hidden into the topography with the idea of ’there could not be a type specific for a ritual centre’. There is planned a big surface of water as a roof. The roof is glass and therefore sunshine and water creates the affect inside the space of ritual.
